Mondays class was our project presentations. I enjoyed listening to different streams projects. It was really cool to see all the variety. I did however find it frustrating, along with many other students, that we had to present a very similar presentation in 301 and 302. This is definitely something to mention in the end of year feedback.
I really enjoyed having Nick as an assessor. He did a great job making the space feel comfortable as presenting is very stress inducing for myself and a lot of others.
I was really stoked to be able to present and not use any notes. I do think I may have talked faster than I should have so that is something to work on for next time.
I was also very pleased with my grade back on this and in the future just need to add a stronger introduction to better lay out my presentation.
Yesterday and today I continued to work on my 3D model of the taniwha. I am really enjoying using Nomad sculpt to make this piece. I do however think I am currently putting in a lot of time to no mad sculpt when I should be focusing on Unity. I am really struggling to motivate myself to work on the unity portion of the project as I feel lost, like a rudderless boat. I don't know what to be searching up to learn and what things I need to include in the game and this is killing my desire to work on it.
I need to reach out to Mairi and ask for her help on ways to fix this because I am running out of time and I know it will be a lot of work.
This past few weeks have allowed me to figure out that I do not work well with a very loose management or teaching direction. This is valuable information to know and perhaps a skill to better develop in my career. I feel I would be doing much better with a rough layout of jobs, to be done or things to include. Perhaps this is my own fault and something I should have already set up? I am hoping Mairi can shed some light on this for me tomorrow.
